Village Card Club Monthly Board of Directors Meeting
June 9, 2011
The meeting was called to order by President Andy Cosby at 12:45p.
Representing the board were Andy Cosby, Mary Kay Stockford, Pat Bertnolli, Nancy Luehring, Chuck Stofer, and Doug Berke.
Absent were Johnnie Niemann, Becky Rice, Annette Bono, Shan Merritt, Vicki Jennings.
The previous semi-annual meeting minutes were approved.
Treasurer Doug Berke commended both the Education Committee and the Spring Fling Committee for the fine job of revenue raising each has provided our club. He also stated that we are currently showing a profit of about $100.00
Andy Cosby announced Bob Wessel is the winner of the Sally Blevens’ trophy. Congratulations Bob!
Andy reported that out of 3200 sanctioned ACBL clubs in the country we rank 26 in table count. Last year we counted just under 10,000 tables. He sees the role of the Board of Directors evolving to oversee club management and focus more on policy.
David Batchelor representing the Constitution and By-Laws Committee moved to accept the changes to both that have been posted on the web and in the club. The motion was seconded and carried. Thanks to that entire committee for all the time that was spent on updating our governance.
