PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE BYLAWS OF THE VILLAGE CARD CLUB

Regarding the Separation of the Duties of the Vice President from the Director of Education

Article IV, Section 2, VICE PRESIDENT

C. Delete current: be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising the educational programs of the club, using ACBL approved educational series.

C. Add new: assist in coordinating and supervising special projects as requested by the President.

D. Delete current: The VP will chair the Education Committee.

Article V, Section 5.

E. New. Be a permanent member of the Education Committee.

New Article VI; old Article VI through XII will be renumbered higher by one.

Article VI, Education

Section 1: Director of Education.

A. The Director of Education shall be appointed by the Board of Directors for a 3 year term, which may be renewed by mutual agreement.

B. The Board of Directors shall select the best qualified person from the applicants per the job description and qualification requirements as stated in the Standing Rules.

C. The Director of Education shall be responsible and accountable for the day to day operations of the VCC Education Program.

Article VII (old Article VI): Committees

Section 10: Education Committee.

A. Delete current: Shall be composed of 3 to 5 persons.

A. Add new: shall be appointed by the Director of Education .

B. Delete current: The purpose of the Education Committee is to give continuity to education programs longer than term of each successive VP Education and to give advice to the VP regarding Education policies of the VCC.

B. Add new: The Player Development Director will be a standing member of this committee.

C. Delete current: At least one each should be from under 100 masterpoints and over 100 masterpoints.

C. Add new: In addition to the Player Development Director, the Director of Education shall appoint no fewer than 3 members; at least one under 100 masterpoints, and one over 1000 masterpoints.
