VILLAGE CARD CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
JANUARY 11, 2006
Meeting was called to order by President Irving at 10:00 AM.
Attending: Ned Irving, Lois Schoenrock, Dick Condon, Teri LaBove, Andy Cosby, Vicki Jennings, Allan Walker, Betty Schultz, Marilyn Biegler, Mabel Serpa and Robbie Robertson.
Ned presented his appointments to the board, Robbie Robertson, club manager and Mabel Serpa, parliamentarian. Approved by the board.
Ned presented his appointments for the committees and their chairs. Approved by the board. These appointments will be posted.
The minutes of the Dec. 2 meeting were approved as posted with one correction:
1.Omit the change to standing rule #7 as it was not seconded or voted on.
The minutes of the Dec. 9 minutes were approved with no corrections.

Treasurer: The board requested that a monthly Balance Sheet be distributed to all board
members prior to the board meetings for review.
Membership
Teri reported that there are 3 pages of names of members who have not paid
2006 dues.
New Business:
Dick moved that an ad hoc education committee be appointed with the names
submitted for this committee. Seconded by Andy. Motion passed.
Dick moved that standing rule #6 under Education Program With Regard to teachers be changed. Amended by Andy to read:
#6 A teacher will receive $300.00 per 8 week course (16 hours) class within the Village Card Club’s teaching program when the class has the requisite 8 student minimum enrollment. When a class reaches five full tables, the vice president may authorize the teacher to hire a helper for $90.00.
A teacher will receive $150.00 for a four week (8 hour course) with an additional
$25.00 for materials if supplied by teacher.
A teacher will receive $25.00 an hour for a 3 or 4 hour course.
Seconded by Dick. Motion passed.
Dick moved that the Charge For Lessons on the Education Program With Regard To Teachers standing rules be changed to:
$35.00 per student for classes in the Village Card Club ACBL Education Program
$15.00 per book (couples may share)
$25.00 per student for 8 hour classes, ACBL or non ACBL.
$15.00 per student for 3 or 4 hour classes, ACBL or non ACBL
Motion seconded by Andy. Motion passed.
Andy made a motion to change standing rule #8 under Game Director to read:
#8 Disputes regarding scoring are to be coordinated with both pairs involved prior to any scoring changes. If a scoring error is found after the scores have been posted, the game director should change the score or notify the Club Manager. Corrections are permitted for a 24 hour period. Game Directors must keep the game computer score cards for one week and make a backup of the game which will be retained for one month. The Director of the game at which the disputed score occurred must approve any score change.
Seconded by Betty. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
Andy moved to change the standing rule under Fee Schedule for Game Director to:
If a game is cancelled after the Game Director’s arrival, he/she shall be paid $10.00.
If the size or complexity of a game warrants two or more directors sharing game management responsibilities, each shall receive $20.00 plus a proportionate share of the applicable table count fee.
The Game Manager may authorize reasonable payment for extended assignment; for example $10.00 per set for duplicating boards.
Seconded by Betty. Motion passed.
Andy made a motion to change the loaner program. Motion tabled until February.
Andy made a motion to accept the 2006 calendar as presented. Seconded by Betty. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
The next meeting will be Feb. 17 at 2:00 PM.
