The Board has established the "Ground Rules" for the Ad Hoc Game Committee that will support the Game Manager in reviewing our Game schedule and developing the plan for next year. This committee will represent the membership proportion by strata based on frequency of play. It will have 5 members in addition to the Game Manager, who will chair the Committee.

Committee persons must all work within the guidelines.

1000 plus Masterpoints - One person
300-1000 - One
20 -300 - Two
0-20 - One (The representative may have up to 50 MP's )

The "Ground Rules" are as follows:

Game selection must be done based on available facts where possible. New games must be forecast based on our existing game size. If a new game cannot reasonably meet our minimum size threshold then it cannot be considered.

Consider the impact on existing games. To approve a new game, it must achieve a significantly positive change in table count for the old and the new in total.

The objective is to meet the primary needs of all players. In addition, the top choices of each group should be considered and should try to be accommodated if the numbers make sense. A spirit of compromise should be practiced at all times: more than likely no group gets everything they want.

Game timing and director scheduling may impact what the committee recommends; the committee should consult with the club manager as needed.

Generally we want to encourage everyone to play in the open games as much as possible, and this is considered by the Board to be the preferred choice of games.

There are other games that are needed and must be thoughtfully considered. Almost all 0-20 players do not want to play in the open game; also a large majority of 20-300.

Support of ACBL events is preferred by the Board. Games will be scheduled in accordance with ACBL guidelines.

This is the primary process for the VCC to make a change to its regular games.
