Standing Rules - Game Clerk
When the size or complexity of a game (or concurrent games in a session) so warrants, the Club Manager may appoint one or more Game Clerk(s) to relieve the Game Director(s) of specific administrative tasks and to provide general assistance in the conduct of the session. These tasks include:
(1) Prepare coffee and make sure cups and ice are available. Place the Coffee Money box (25¢ per cup) by the coffee maker. Collect this money before the game ends or when there is no longer a demand for coffee. Record cash receipts for beverages on the Game Report. After the game, make sure all coffee machine heating elements are off, clean the coffee pots, put away supplies and leave the kitchen clean.
(2) Sharpen pencils for all games in the session. After the game(s) pick up all pencils and other supplies, including duplicate boards and table cards, and return them to their proper places, insuring that the playing area is left clean.
(3) Collect appropriate playing fees from each player, and be responsible for any shortage.
(4) Distribute Membership Applications, Membership Booklets and ACBL Applications to any new players.
(5) Assist the Game Director(s) in distributing sign-in sheets, travelers, pick-up slips, table cards and duplicate boards.
(6) Prepare the Game Report. Deposit all cash and checks at Regions Bank at least bi-weekly by Friday at 5:00 pm. Keep a detailed record of the date of the game, the amount deposited from game fees and from beverage money. Give all Game Reports and deposit receipts to the Payroll Clerk before month-end, each deposit receipt indicating the date and total cash receipts of each game included.
