Job Description

PUBLICITY DIRECTOR

It is the responsibility of the Publicity Director to promote the Village Card Club.

The Publicity Director is to contact the media with information that is of interest to the public.

• Make sure the Voice has a Current schedule of all the games VCC offers, including times
• Monthly update special games for the Voice Calendar.
• Have the photographer take pictures and write articles that would include new Life Masters, NAP finalists, Players of the Month, Emmy Clark Memorial Winners, Life Master Party, special tournament winners and any other events deemed interesting.

Advertise our Sectional Tournament with articles and pictures before and after the tournament.

Update the VCC Brochure annually and distribute as needed.

Update game schedule for the Breakfast Lions Club Resident &Visitors Guide prior to January and include the names and telephone numbers of the Board of Directors.

Gather information and write articles for the Newsletter.  Ask our more experienced players to write and/or assist with articles.  The Newsletter should include the following:

• President’s letter
• Schedule of VCC coming events and upcoming area tournaments
• Articles of  interest for the novice, intermediate and advanced players
• Players of the Month and Club Achievers (5, 20, 50, 100 and 200)
• Tournament results
• Information about our annual Sectional Tournament, the Regional Tournament in Hot Springs (alternating years) and the annual DeGray Sectional Tournament.

Edit and publish the Newsletter quarterly (March, June, September and December).  The June and December issues should be published prior to the semi-annual meetings.
