Job Description


GAME MANAGER

Conduct a periodic survey, subject to board approval, of the membership to access concerns and desires. Evaluate player’s suggestions and recommend games to fulfill the desires of the membership. Consider the following factors: full support of ACBL events, limited proportion of computer hands, balancing newness and staleness—both in moderation, other regional club event ideas, feasibility/practicality of events, development of lower level players

Serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors

Develop the annual calendar of events for the approval of the Board by December of each year working with the Director of Education, Committee Chair of Mentoring, and the Club Manager. The outgoing Game manager must prepare a detailed draft calendar of events for the next March to March period for presentation to the Board no later than December.

Develop a written implementation plan for any special games, working with the Club Manager and the game director for the special game.

Work with the Ad Hoc advisory committee to prioritize game schedule changes. The Ad Hoc committee must represent a balanced proportion of total membership of skill levels and most common viewpoints in the club. The Club Manager will serve as an advisor to the Ad Hoc advisory committee to ensure that planned events conform to ACBL standards and regulations.

Publicize special events, as appropriate, on the game bulletin board, in playing areas, and by providing announcements for the Game Directors.

Maintain complete game statistics and periodically provide statistical analysis of game activities to the Board of Directors.
