VCC MENTOR PROGRAM: Spring, 2010
GAME SCHEDULE: Wednesday Evenings February 3, March 3, April 7; 6:30 p.m.

The Mentoring Program pairs a beginning to intermediate bridge player with an experienced player for a three-month period. Both students and mentors must be Village Card Club members and ACBL members. Students need at least 20 master points (or the equivalent experience) and less than 300 master points. Mentors are usually Life Masters, but can be Non Life Masters with over 500 points. The mentor provides individual tutoring in various aspects of bridge, focusing on concepts which the student wishes to learn or improve upon. During that time, the pair plays bridge on the three scheduled mentor game dates, and three other games at times agreed upon by the partnership. By the end of the three months, the student will have benefited from the relationship in technical knowledge and an increased comfort level during play.

We welcome returning students and mentors, and encourage new participants to give the program a try. Please sign up on the appropriate sheet on the bulletin board in the Casa de Carta lobby. The committee will pair students and mentors based on the sign up. If a student wishes a particular mentor or a mentor has a student in mind, please let one of the committee members know. While we cannot guarantee requested pairings, we will make every effort to accommodate you. The deadline for sign up is Saturday, January 23. The completed pairings will be posted on the bulletin board on Tuesday, January 26.

The Mentoring Committee is available for questions. Please feel free to contact Teri LaBove, Dick Banks, Nan Medcalf, or Maureen Morgan.
